The Acqua di Parma’s journey in the creation of fine fragrances has reached an exciting milestone as they unveil Colonia Pura in London.
Mixing sophistication and fresh energy, this fragrance is one that, of course, smells great on men, but it’s also so appealing to women that they could probably wear it as well. This accessibility is a crucial part of the ethos behind Acqua di Parma’s new scent, as they aim to bring the history and tradition of the household brand to a more modern, contemporary generation.
Like the original Colonia of Acqua di Parma, the new Colonia Pura captures that ‘joy, culture and warmth’ of the Italian way of life. Much loved among celebrities including Sharon Stone, Ronan Keating, Kate Moss, Jude Law, Sandra Bullock and Sienna Miller among others, Acqua di Parma releases its new ‘Italian elegance in a bottle, ready to be sprayed and shared with the entire world.’
Incorporating the Art Deco charm of the iconic Acqua di Parma flacon, a sleek bottle holds within the light, refreshing-looking, almost ‘icy-like’ transparency of the liquid. The thinking behind the appearance is that it celebrates light, and celebrates the weightless moments of joy that fill it. The famous Acqua di Parma bottle remains unchanged from fragrance to fragrance and for good reason – the instantly recognisable silhouette of the bottle has become the synonym of great fragrance, exclusivity, and great customer experience. So much so, we were told, that exclusively for one loyal customer, Acqua di Parma is bottling their perfume in grand 3L bottles.
Guests at the launch were presented with a minimalistic ‘hanging garden’ where massive baubles of moss and mandarin trees were accompanied by fine and light glass baubles filled with the ingredients used to create Colonia Pura. Top notes of the fragrance are bergamot and orange; middle notes are jasmine sambac, narcissus, and coriander; base notes are patchouli, cedar and white musk. The sumptuous canapes in wooden trays and Veuve Clicquot Champagne were also very popular among the guests.
“This new fragrance will make a perfect Christmas gift and so we are putting a lot of effort to launch the perfume before then.”
The CEO of Acqua di Parma, Laura Burdese, was also in attendance, talking about future plans. “We were very busy launching this new truly amazing perfume,” Laura admitted to Ikon London Magazine. She continued: “We feel a little bit like on a world tour – I travel everywhere to launch the fragrance. We landed last night in London and flying back to Italy tomorrow. This new fragrance will make a perfect Christmas gift and so we are putting a lot of effort to launch the perfume before then.”
The perfumer behind this fragrance is Francois Demachy, who is known for creating the most iconic perfumes for Dior, Fendi, Givenchy and Acqua di Parma among others.
