On the 25th of May, the Swedish high street giant H&M finally unveiled some exciting details about their upcoming designer collaboration. Kenzo X H&M means the high street shops will team up with Carol Lim and Humberto Leon from the renowned Paris-based brand KENZO. The partnership will include a range of clothing, shoes and accessories for both men and women and will hit the stores on the 3rd of November, 2016.
Great Expectations for Kenzo X H&M
Ever since H&M teamed up with Olivier Rousteing and Balmain, a collaboration that attracted a lot of attention from all over the world (especially when supermodels carried the collection down the runway and Back Street Boys performed at the after party), people have wondered who would dare to follow on the heels of such a successful partnership. Kenzo dared. H&M’s head of design, Ann-Sofie Johansson, promises that the Kenzo collaboration will be different, because “Balmain was glamorous and sexy, and this is vibrant, young, and fun.”
Collaboration is in Their DNA
Carol Lim and Humberto Leon are no strangers to collaborations. As the founders of the innovative brand Opening Ceremony, Carol and Humberto were there when the brand teamed up with some of the greatest fashion labels like Levi’s, Teva, Keds, Dr. Martens, Pendleton, etc. With the collaboration with H&M, Carol Lim and Humberto Leon hope that they will be able to “tell the story of the brand [Kenzo] and us. Together with H&M, we will invite all the customers and fans to the real world of Kenzo.” Kenzo is known for its vibrant and playful vibe that captures the energy of global culture to create a youthful and unique spirit. Kenzo is recognised by details, vivid prints and bold colours. Kenzo pushes boundaries with wildly patterned clothing and structured silhouettes. A Kenzo item is the perfect way to add personality to your style.
