The contemporary art gallery Maddox is known for showcasing some of the trendiest contemporary abstract artists of ‘our time’. Ahead of the exhibition of RETNA archives, the gallery owners James Nicholls and Daniele Ryman welcomed celebs and VIP’s along with press at the private view in Mayfair.
RETNA is a contemporary artist, primarily recognised for graffiti art. He developed a distinctive constructed script which is derived from Blackletter, Egyptian hieroglyphics, Arabic, and Hebrew calligraphy, as well as more traditional types of ‘street-based graffiti’ which will always split judgment.
The evening supported by Ciroc vodka and Rolls Royce was also generously fueled with Moet Champagne – for its discerning customers. Guests and VIP’s included Tamara and Petra Ecclestone, Jay Rutland, Laura Pradelska, Joe Alvarez and Tamara Orlova-Alvarez amongst others, who were surrounded by several dozens of RETNA artworks across two floors of gallery space.
The artist was in high spirits as he mingled and chatted readily with the great and the good of the showbiz world. The artworks can be seen and bought at Maddox Gallery Mayfair.
