Edward Enninful is revolutionising the way we engage with art by blending fashion, technology, and creative vision, through groundbreaking collaborations with MYSE and LITO Masters that make iconic works of art more accessible and personal.
Enninful’s Vision: Merging Art, Fashion, and Technology
Edward Enninful, known for his transformative work in the fashion industry, has now turned his focus to the art world with collaborations that aim to bridge the gap between high culture and contemporary accessibility. This new chapter showcases his ability to bring art closer to the public, not only through curatorial expertise but by integrating cutting-edge technology into the art experience.
MYSE: Personalising Your Art Journey
MYSE is a dynamic digital platform that allows visitors to personalise their art experience. By downloading the MYSE app at The Courtauld Gallery, users can scan the artwork labels and select their favourites to create a custom catalogue. Visitors can choose how they want to compile their collection, from digital versions to physical catalogues, making this a deeply personal and interactive way to engage with art. Whether in digital or printed form, these personalised catalogues provide a tangible memento of one’s visit, ensuring that visitors leave with a one-of-a-kind piece that captures their unique experience. The collaboration with MYSE offers an innovative way to merge the tactile world of traditional art with the digital age, allowing anyone to interact with masterpieces in a highly personal way.
LITO Masters: Redefining Art Prints with Hi-Rnd© Technology
LITO Masters takes this concept even further by remastering Monet’s works through their Hi-Rnd© technology, which allows art lovers to bring home not just prints but tactile, textured reproductions of iconic works. This technology meticulously recreates the brushstrokes and texture of Monet’s originals, offering an intimate connection to the artwork that is often lost in traditional prints. Monet’s works, such as London, Houses of Parliament, have been reproduced with exceptional precision, maintaining the essence of the artist’s techniques and preserving the emotional depth of the original pieces. Enninful’s partnership with LITO Masters stems from a shared mission: to democratise art and make it accessible, while maintaining the integrity of the original work.
Edward Enninful’s Curatorial Approach
Enninful’s curatorial approach reflects his belief that art should be for everyone. He selected eight works from Monet’s oeuvre, including famous pieces like Water Lilies, choosing works that had a profound impact on him personally. His connection with Monet’s art, from the first time he encountered it as a child, guided the selection process. Enninful’s focus was on pieces that resonated deeply with him, and he hopes that these same works will strike a chord with others. His passion for Monet’s emotional and serene brushstrokes is what fuels his desire to bring these masterpieces to a broader audience, and it’s this same passion that drives both his fashion and art curatorial work.
Bridging Art and Audience: Breaking Down Barriers
Both collaborations aim to break down the intimidating walls of the art world, encouraging more people to engage with art in a way that is less about exclusivity and more about connection. Enninful has always been about challenging industry norms, from his work in fashion to his involvement in these art projects. By bringing Monet’s works into people’s homes, LITO and MYSE offer a new kind of artistic engagement, one that invites people to feel the artwork’s texture, see its brushstrokes in fine detail, and understand the artist’s intent more intimately. For Enninful, this is a way of demystifying the art world and making it accessible to those who might never have entered a gallery or museum.
