A curated selection of the world’s finest garden, plant, and wildlife photography comes to Kew Gardens this February–March.

You’d think Kew has enough flowers to admire in person — but if you love photographs of them as much as the real thing, this year’s International Garden Photographer of the Year (IGPOTY) exhibition is not to be missed. The 19th edition of this celebrated competition showcases breathtaking images from photographers around the world, capturing the beauty of gardens, plants, wildlife, and fungi in all their glory.

From sweeping landscapes to intimate close-ups, the exhibition features images across nine main categories: Beautiful Gardens, Breathing Spaces, The Beauty of Plants, Wildflower Landscapes, Wildlife in the Garden, Trees, Woods and Forests, Abstract Views, PMC Plants & Planet, and the striking new category The World of Fungi. Kew visitors will also see the ‘Captured at Kew’ Special Award, exclusively on display at the Gardens.

While the competition winners are announced on 14 February, the exhibition opens the same day, offering visitors an early glimpse into stunning imagery that highlights skill, creativity, and a love of the natural world. Photography enthusiasts can also pick up the IGPOTY collection books, featuring awarded images with expert insights — perfect for study, inspiration, or as a gift.
