Johnny Depp Arriving at the London Premiere of The Lone Ranger
0 3 mins 12 yrs

Johnny Depp was in a joyful mood at the London Premiere of The Lone Ranger. Held at the Odeon in Leicester Square on one of the hottest days of the year, it seems that the weather played a part in Depp’s mood as it was the SECOND time I’ve ever seen Johnny Depp smile in all my showbiz career.

The event itself saw a ‘Lone Ranger’ on a white horse riding on the black and white carpet to the great amusement of the crowd. The talent arrived and proceeded to be interviewed live on the stage in front of the crowd and invited media. Standard premiere fodder, but it was all good. Only complaint at most premieres -including this one- is waiting for the ‘talent’ -by talent I mean guests, as I have never seen or heard of a lot of the ‘celebs’ invited- to arrive. The cast arrived on time, but the rest of the guests took forever to appear.

The Lone Ranger has been panned by the film ‘critics’ -with even articles about Depp’s career going over the cliff- but he remains buoyant saying to me that “We like what we have achieved in this film, and you always get people that want to see you fail. In fact the naysayers maybe somewhat surprised as the film hasn’t done as bad in the box office as they predicted”.

Johnny Depp To Quit Acting?

Is Johnny Depp planning to quit acting for good?  just a week after it was revealed his movie career is in the doldrums. At only 50, the US actor revealed plans to retire to concentrate on other interests.

It came as he promoted his -flop?- remake of The Lone Ranger.

In an interview to be broadcast by the BBC, he said: “Are there quieter things I wouldn’t mind doing?

“Yes, I wouldn’t mind that. I wouldn’t say I am dropping out any second but I would say it’s not too far away.”

The quirky star of the Pirates Of The Caribbean series split from French singer Vanessa Paradis, the mother of his two children, a year ago. His new girlfriend is rumoured to be actress Amber Heard, 27.
