https://www.ikonlondonmagazine.com/cinderella-rose-theatre-kingston-2025/The Rose Theatre in Kingston has announced Kara Lily Hayworth — best known for her standout turn in Cilla the Musical — as the final addition to the cast of its brand-new Christmas production, Cinderella. She’ll play Lilith/Lady Dungeness, bringing both glamour and bite to this sharply reimagined fairy tale.
Hayworth trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and has appeared in productions including Kinky Boots, Cabaret and Moulin Rouge. On screen, she’s featured in The Huntsman: Winter’s War and Citadel, and she’s no stranger to the spotlight — her band Zyrah Rose, signed to Decca Records, reached the classical charts and performed at Wembley Arena before making it to the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent.
This new Cinderella — written by Olivier Award-winner Chris Bush (Standing at the Sky’s Edge) and Roni Neale, with original songs by Matt Winkworth — promises to be a Christmas show with a difference. Expect humour, music and a knowing wink at tradition. It’s a story where happily-ever-after isn’t guaranteed, and the magic lies as much in friendship and family as it does in glass slippers.
The production, directed by Owen Horsley, pairs a professional West End cast with members of the Rose Youth Theatre, giving young performers the chance to share the stage with seasoned professionals. The result is a lively mix of energy, imagination and heart — very much the Rose’s signature style.
Cinderella runs from 26 November 2025 to 4 January 2026 at the Rose Theatre, Kingston.
Tickets are on sale now at rosetheatre.org.
