The UK’s original podcast festival turns 10 — here’s why you should join the celebration this September

London’s podcasting party is back. And this year, it’s a big one: the London Podcast Festival turns ten. Over ten days, Kings Place hosts live shows from some of the UK’s biggest and boldest audio names — from cult comedy favourites to film geeks, football pundits and proper history nerds. It’s not just about recording mics and headphones anymore — it’s a proper scene. And we’ve rounded up the best reasons to plug in and turn up.

1. Because No Such Thing As A Fish is still brilliantly bonkers

The QI elves are back with their fact-packed comedy podcast — and yes, it’s still as daft, dorky and oddly educational as ever. Expect flying hippos, weird 19th-century laws and the kind of trivia that will ruin every pub quiz (in the best way).

2. Because Jameela Jamil is bringing her unfiltered chaos to the stage

Wrong Turns with Jameela Jamil is making its festival debut. Think embarrassing stories, no morals, and a gloriously NSFW vibe. Come for the cringe, stay for the comedy carnage.

3. Because Dan Snow is dragging you through history — and it’ll be fun

He’s not your school history teacher. In Dan Snow’s History Hit, the BBC historian turns epic moments from the past into proper edge-of-your-seat stuff. No dusty textbooks required.

4. Because film nerds deserve a festival too

The Empire Film Podcast is back — and it’s as wonderfully geeky as ever. Movie gossip, savage reviews, hot takes and maybe a surprise celeb or two. Lights, camera, nerd-out.

Sep 13 | Hall One

5. Because you secretly love 90s wrestling chaos

Wrestle Me is back in the ring with a deep dive into the WWF’s 1999 Capital Carnage show. Expect insider stories, nostalgia, and maybe a rogue suplex of emotion.

Sep 7 | Hall Two

6. Because Betwixt the Sheets gets hilariously indecent

Sex, scandal and society? Historian Kate Lister knows how to keep a crowd giggling and gasping. From the Black Death to Caesar’s sex life, this is history that hits differently.

Sep 4 | St Pancras Room

7. Because spooky season starts early at After Dark

Witch trials, haunted pubs and Houdini — After Dark brings all the goosebumps. Maddy Pelling and Anthony Delaney go digging through history’s creepiest corners.

Sep 5 | St Pancras Room

8. Because Shaping Tomorrow brings new voices to the forefront

Created by a 90% deaf production team, this live debut explores the journeys of deaf professionals across the arts and media. It’s fresh, insightful — and essential listening.

9. Because live podcasts beat studio ones — every time

Forget sitting at home with your headphones. Here, you’re in a room full of fans, watching podcast magic happen live — jokes land harder, reactions are real, and the energy is electric.
