In London with kids this half term and not keen on driving all the way out to that Time Out-approved “perfect” pumpkin farm at Crockford Bridge? You don’t have to – St Katharine Docks, London’s largest marina, is bringing the pumpkin patch right into the city. From Monday 27th October to Saturday 1st November, the Coronarium and its terrace will be filled with pumpkins of every shape and size, surrounded by autumn leaves and the usual calm of the marina.

Families can pick a pumpkin to take home, carve it on-site, or simply wander around taking photos – because yes, this spot is really photogenic. The carving station on the Coronarium’s top deck is set up for both kids and adults, with all the tools you need. First-time carvers can get creative without fear of disaster, while seasoned pros can attempt intricate designs – all with a great view of the marina’s boats in the background.

A pop-up cart will be serving hot chocolates, pumpkin spice lattes, and other autumn treats, perfect for warming little hands (or big ones) as you wander the pumpkin display or take a break on the terrace. The combination of seasonal smells, colourful pumpkins, and the gentle sounds of the marina makes for a half-term outing that feels calm and enjoyable – without leaving the city.

Even in the heart of London, St Katharine Docks manages to feel like a little escape. After carving or sipping, you can stroll along the picturesque docks, peek at the boats, or grab a meal at one of the waterside restaurants. There’s plenty to do even beyond the pumpkins, making it easy to spend a few hours here with kids of all ages.
