The Royal Ballet returns with Encounters, an exciting programme of contemporary ballets running from 22 October to 16 November 2024, featuring world premieres by Joseph Toonga and Pam Tanowitz, as well as the revival of Kyle Abraham’s The Weathering. The latter is set to an evocative score by Ryan Lott, the acclaimed composer behind Everything Everywhere All at Once. Known for his atmospheric and multi-dimensional compositions, Lott brings his cinematic expertise to the world of ballet, infusing The Weathering with emotional depth and a haunting soundscape that explores love, loss, and memory.

Lott’s work on Everything Everywhere All at Once, which won widespread acclaim for its genre-blending and emotionally resonant score, mirrors his approach in The Weathering, where he again pushes musical boundaries. The collaboration between Kyle Abraham’s choreography and Lott’s evocative soundscape promises a transformative ballet experience, perfect for fans of both contemporary dance and cinematic scoring.
