The West End is bracing for the arrival of the multi-award-winning musical, “Standing at the Sky’s Edge,” with a stellar cast announced for its February premiere at the Gillian Lynne Theatre. Following its triumph at the Edinburgh Fringe, the show, a heartfelt ode to Sheffield and the iconic Park Hill Estate, is directed by Robert Hastie and features songs by Sheffield’s own Richard Hawley.

The ensemble cast is a mix of seasoned and fresh talent, including Jonathan Andre, Jonathon Bentley, and Rachael Louise Miller, alongside debuting Mya Fox-Scott. They join the likes of Elizabeth Ayodele, Joel Harper-Jackson, and Sharlene Hector, ensuring a diverse and dynamic portrayal of the narrative spanning six decades.
This production, celebrated for its poignant exploration of community and home, has already garnered critical acclaim, including the ‘Best New Musical’ at the 2023 Olivier Awards. With a team that includes celebrated choreographer Lynne Page and lighting designer Mark Henderson, “Standing at the Sky’s Edge” promises to be a theatrical experience of both heart and spectacle.
Tickets for the musical are available from £20 at SkysEdgeMusical.com. Assisted performances are available throughout the run.
