Intimate 35-seat show offers a rare glimpse inside the psychology of deception

Australian magician Harry Milas, once banned from casinos for being too good at what he does, brings his sell-out show The Unfair Advantage to London this autumn. Following acclaimed runs in Edinburgh, Chicago and Sydney, this intimate 35-seat production opens at 5th Floor @sohoplace on 26 August, for a strictly limited run until 11 October 2025.

Blending illusion, psychology and confession, The Unfair Advantage invites its audience into the shadowy world of card cheating — a world Milas knows inside out.

Part performance, part exposé, Milas’s show is as much a study in human behaviour as it is a display of skill. Over 75 tightly controlled minutes, audiences are shown the tools of deception: false shuffles, stacked decks, psychological tells — and the ethical grey areas that blur performance and manipulation.

In an unusual twist, audience members are required to sign a legal confidentiality agreement before the show begins. Nothing is recorded, and what happens in the room stays there.

It’s this level of secrecy and precision that has earned Milas a devoted following — and a reputation as someone who not only performs cons, but helps catch them. In addition to his work on stage, he has consulted for casino fraud teams, trained corporate security, and worked on theatrical magic for major companies including Belvoir St Theatre.

Produced by Pemberley Productions, PW Productions, and Parrot Ox, in association with PitStop Productions and Nica Burns.
