Will Smith And Margot Robbie On The Red Carpet At The London Premiere Of Suicide Squad

Suicide Squad is a 2016 American superhero film based on the DC Comics antihero team of the same name. The film had an entire movement of fans long before its release. Back in May, Ms. Delevingne even skipped on the Kids in Love Film official party in Cannes – where she played Viola – for the unofficial Suicide Squad party. Decisions, decisions…

Back to the premiere, the A-list friends Margot and Will shared a big hug as they ran into each other outside the Odeon Leicester Square on Wednesday night and proceeded to joke around at the London premiere of Suicide Squad.

Trying but failing to keep straight faces as they posed for pictures, Margot Robbie and Will Smith, who have also worked together on last year’s Focus, descended into giggles.

The entire cast of David Ayer’s DC film turned out for the UK premiere, including Joel Kinnerman, Jared Leto and Jai Courtney.

Surprise appearances on the red carpet

What surprised fans was the unscheduled appearance on the red carpet of Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill.

Although not billed to appear in the film, Affleck’s Batman and Cavill’s Superman are part of the same ‘DC universe’.

Fans went wild as the pair arrived on the red carpet many shouting hysterically to get autographs with the stars.

Speaking to Laura Whitmore on the red carpet, Delevingne told the crowd that she was so happy to be back in her hometown of London.“I’m so happy to be in London right now – it’s awesome. I love London so much – thank you so much for the support guys.”

Speaking about her character, The Enchantress, she said: “To be honest I’m a little demon at heart. That’s how I wake up in the morning, honesty.

“It was three hours of hair and makeup every day. The number of tattoos and dirt, it was definitely a challenge.”

Red carpet fashion at the London Premiere Of Suicide Squad

Cara Delevingne diverted a lot of the attention as she arrived wearing a sheer black mini-dress and thigh-high leather boots.

Jared Leto, who plays The Joker, looked like he’d come in character, wearing a green Gucci jacket and pink trousers.

Speaking about working with Robbie, he said: “Margot is very easy to have chemistry with – she’s incredibly talented and very sweet and a great actress. The perfect partner for me and the joker.”

Margot Robbie herself opted for a floral Gucci dress with the roaring tiger applique at the front.

The worst red carpet faux pas goes to Xenia Tchoumicheva who intentionally stole the attention of the press, for a wrong reason. She was zipping her dress down as she walked away from the red carpet.

Jared Leto about violence

In an interview with GQ Style ahead of the film’s release, Leto said: “There was a point where I was researching violence and was watching a lot of things that…things that it’s arguably if anybody should even see.

“It starts to just get inside of you, violence and some of those things. But you know, I’ve made some pretty dark films.”

“I noticed that it started to have an impact on me that I didn’t like, so I stopped.”

The Suicide Squad film will be released in the UK cinemas on August 5, 2016.
