A brilliantly absurd and sharply crafted comedy celebrating the unlikely pairing of Ball and Boe, coming to East London for one night only.

This September, Adam Riches and John Kearns return with ARE Ball & Boe, a sharply absurd and gloriously silly comedy show that has won five-star acclaim from The Times, The Telegraph, Chortle, and beyond. After sold-out runs at Soho Theatre’s Dean Street venue and a successful Edinburgh Fringe, the show makes its debut at the newly opened Soho Theatre Walthamstow on Saturday 27 September.

In this hour-long performance, the duo reimagine West End icons Michael Ball and Alfie Boe with a blend of glitz, gags, and nonsense. The real Ball and Boe even made surprise appearances during previous runs, blurring the line between spoof and reality.

Soho Theatre Walthamstow, with its spacious 900-seat auditorium, offers a new and vibrant home for live comedy in East London. The venue opened in May 2025 and has quickly become a hub for fresh, boundary-pushing performances.

Adam Riches is an award-winning comedian and writer, known for his Edinburgh Comedy Award and Time Out Comedy Person of the Year honours. He is familiar to television audiences for his comic portrayal of Sean Bean on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. John Kearns stands out as the only comedian to win both Edinburgh Comedy Awards for Best Newcomer and Best Show. He also gained wider recognition as a contestant on Taskmaster series 14 and stars in the BBC3/Netflix sitcom Top Coppers.

Together, Riches and Kearns deliver a comedy experience that is silly, smart, and heartfelt — a show that both entertains and surprises.
