Surrounded by picturesque Alpine mountains and caressed by the last autumn sun, Annecy, the ‘Venice of the Alps’, has attracted the attention of fashion buyers and fashionistas from around Europe while hosting its first Glam Couture Fashion Week.

The event was held at the luxurious Imperial Palace Hotel and carriage was arranged for elite guests by Porsche, a main sponsor of the event. Accompanied by the sound of clinking champagne glasses, guests and event organisers were immersed into the atmosphere of Haute Couture fashion by established and most promising upcoming designers, carefully selected by organisers of the event.

“We believe that it is extremely important to provide a platform for both established and new-coming designers. We create long-lasting relationships with designers and buyers and our strategy has proven to be very effective” commented Myriam Larriere, the mastermind behind Annecy Glam Couture Fashion Week 2015.

The catwalk was dominated by elegant flamboyant evening frocks embroidered with fine lace details and crystals. Sparkly looks finished off with handmade precious stone & gold jewellery and statement accessories gave guests something to talk about until the next show. Designers favoured mostly silk and lace and feminine cuts that play well on natural body curves without exposing too much.

Guests were also presented with lux fur collection by La Rena Salon and special male collection by very promising newcomer Teddy Parra, who has admitted to draw his inspiration from classical English tailor cuts. We saw bomber type jackets made of finest wool, a combination that, being very risky, paid off extremely well. Offering special twist to standard 3-set suits Parra has introduced male accessories such as tailor scarves beautifully crafted by designer himself to suit the outfits.

One of the public’s most favourites were bespoke dresses by Italian- born designer Ezio Bottini, made entirely of carbon, silver, and golden links. Being a sculptor by trade Ezio is a living proof that art and fashion go hand in hand together.

Can’t wait for the next Glam Couture Fashion Week; hopefully, we will also get Porsche carriages next year (Le petite hint to les organisers here tee hee.)
