Australian alt-pop artist færy (Liana Cornell) is back with “Beltane,” the latest single from her upcoming debut album Rising, set to release on 31st October. Pre-order Rising here.
Drawing from the ancient Celtic festival that celebrates love, renewal, and transformation, Beltane mixes ethereal vocals with environmental soundscapes. The single was produced by Will Vaughan in Cornwall, inspired by færy’s time in Ibiza following personal turmoil.
“I was meant to be there on my honeymoon, but because my partner and I had split right after my Dad died, I took a bunch of women instead. It was wild and fun and just the medicine I needed but it was also sad and destructive and rattling to my soul.”
“I was taking endless baths and regularly in the pool trying to wash off my pain and I made a series of recordings whilst staying there, of the sounds of my bath interwoven with birdsong,” said Cornell.
Known for her roles in Britannia and Wolf Creek, færy now channels her creativity into music, delivering soul-stirring, cinematic soundscapes.
