Fulham Pier kicked off its debut festive season as James B Partridge joined Fulham FC captain Tom Cairney, Jonah Kusi-Asare and Kenny Tete for a community singalong with local schoolchildren.
Fulham Pier had its first big star moment last night – as Primary School Bangers’ James B. Partridge – the teacher-turned-viral star behind Primary School Assembly Bangers – led the crowd in a festive countdown worthy of his viral assembly fame. The new riverside destination switched on its Christmas lights for the very first time, and Partridge – now a regular on some of the UK’s biggest stages – brought his trademark, joyfully chaotic school-hall energy to West London.
Adding to the celebrity pull, Fulham FC captain Tom Cairney took to the stage alongside players Jonah Kusi-Asare and Kenny Tete, pressing the big red button that lit up the pier. Cue cheers, phones up, and several small children visibly losing their minds.
The switch-on also featured pupils from St John’s Walham Green CE Primary School, who joined Partridge in a full-throttle singalong. Teachers clapped, parents filmed, and the kids threw themselves into every chorus.
The evening marked the launch of Fulham Pier’s first festive programme, ‘Into the Woods’, which transforms the riverfront with pine trees, illuminated walkways, interactive art and a run of family-friendly events running into January.
