Guerin Projects is presenting a solo booth of paintings by Ru Knox in the Solo Contemporary 2025 section at the British Art Fair, hosted at the Saatchi Gallery from 25–28 September. Curated by Zavier Ellis, this showcase offers a compelling glimpse into the artist’s exploration of movement, emotion, and abstraction.

Knox’s latest works translate the gestures of ballerinas into allegories of time’s passage and the fragility of existence. Fragile figures and poetic brush strokes evoke Kandinsky’s spiritual modernism and nod to Degas’s nimble dancers—installing Knox firmly within, yet distinct from, early modernist traditions.

Marie‑Claudine Llamas, founder of Guerin Projects, explains: “In his most recent body of work, Ru Knox uses dance to articulate composition, his brush creates the liaisons between the movements of the medium, orchestrated by the artist, conductor of the paint.”

Knox’s paintings delve into liminal, hypnagogic moments—the threshold where perception and dreaming blur into one. Human figures emerge as sculptural, faceted forms, suggesting memory, gesture and emotion as visual echoes. “These works are invitations to feel rather than decipher, and to listen to the movement of form,” Knox says.

A British painter trained under Charles Cecil in Florence, Knox blends technical precision with layered textures and psychological depth. His MA at City & Guilds of London Art School further refined his experimental approach, earning recognition through solo shows (such as Rapture at Waluso Gallery) and exhibitions at venues including the Rijksmuseum and Art in the Age of Now.

British Art Fair takes place at Saatchi Gallery, London SW3 4RY  from Thursday 25 to Sunday 28 September, 2025.
