The UK contains nine of the top ten poorest regions in Northern Europe, However It Is Also Home To The Richest New Research Reveals

New research from Inequality Briefing claims to highlight the stark inequality found in the UK compared to that in countries such France, Germany or Belgium.

London is listed as the richest area in Northern Europe, which contains some of the wealthiest countries on the planet, however most other parts of the UK are among the poorest areas.

The Sunday Times Rich List recently reported that London has more billionaires than any other city in the world, and a property market that is increasing faster than any other part of the country.

Inequality Briefing suggest that their findings are particularly strange considering the similarities in progress and financial institutions between the countries included in the list.

They say: ‘The UK is more unequal than other countries, where there is nowhere as rich as London, but nowhere as poor as the poorest regions.’
