Zoe Andrews’ porcelain artwork takes centre stage at The Drawing Year 2024 exhibition, showcasing the best of observational drawing in London.

In the heart of Shoreditch, The Royal Drawing School has once again thrown open its doors, unveiling The Drawing Year 2024, an exhibition featuring over 500 works by 31 graduating students from its prestigious year-long postgraduate course. With free admission and works available for purchase both in person and online, the exhibition promises to be a highlight for art lovers and collectors alike.

Among the standout moments of the event is the announcement of Zoe Andrews as the recipient of the coveted Christie’s Drawing Award, accompanied by a £15,000 prize. This accolade not only recognises artistic excellence but also provides a platform for future creative development, culminating in a solo exhibition at the Royal Drawing School.

A Winning Vision: Classical Meets Contemporaryin Focus

The Drawing Year postgraduate programme, founded by HM King Charles III and artist Catherine Goodman in 2000, remains a beacon for those dedicated to the art of observational drawing. Selected from over 500 applicants annually, students receive intensive training from practicing artists and access to dedicated studio space. This year’s graduates span disciplines as varied as animation, fashion, philosophy, and architecture, demonstrating the breadth of talent cultivated within the School.

The exhibition, supported by the Linder Foundation, runs from 4–19 December at the Royal Drawing School in Shoreditch. Works by artists such as Bek Ashton, Heera Gul, and Tobias Tatham are on display, with prices ranging from £70 to £4,000, offering an opportunity for art enthusiasts to support emerging talent.
