You can get dinner and a drink for £20 at this London food hall this summer
Looking for a cheaper meal out during the summer holidays? BOXHALL City has put together a £20 dinner-and-drink deal with nine kitchens taking part.
Eating out in London can quickly become an expensive part of a summer day, particularly when you’re feeding more than one person. A new offer at Liverpool Street could make a casual dinner a little easier on the wallet.
BOXHALL City is offering a meal and a drink for £20 through its Dinner in the City offer, with nine of its kitchens taking part.
The deal runs from 2 August to 30 September, from 5pm until kitchens close, Sunday to Wednesday.
There is a choice of dishes rather than one fixed meal, with options ranging from burgers and steak to tacos, noodles and vegan dishes.
What can you get for £20?
At Beef on the Block, the deal includes Philly Cheese Steak Buns, while Burger & Beyond is offering its cheeseburger with fries.
Club Mexicana is offering three tacos, while Little Bao Boy includes noodles from its main menu with a bao bun.
Baked Bird has Cluckin’ Loaded Fries or the Rice n Cluck Box, while Inamo Sukoshi is offering chicken katsu curry with either chicken or vegetable gyoza.
For plant-based diners, King Cookdaily has six vegan dishes from its main menu included in the offer.
Nativo is offering a choice of spicy Iberian pork ribs, sirloin steak, or four-hour pork belly with fries. Old Chang Kee has satay chicken with either rice or noodles.
The £20 price includes a selection of drinks, including pints of selected beer, cider and stout, a 175ml house wine, a single house spirit with mixer or selected soft drinks.
The range of food means it could work particularly well for groups who cannot agree on where to eat, with different kitchens offering very different styles of food under the same roof.
No app needed
Ordering is done by scanning a QR code at the table. There is no app or account to download, and the drinks are brought to the table while a text lets you know when your food is ready to collect.
BOXHALL is also open to children until 9pm, provided they are accompanied by a responsible adult, so the offer could be useful for families looking for a more affordable dinner during the summer holidays.
