Cycle 6.5km on Strava for the chance to win a trip to Melbourne and ride 60.7km alongside Commonwealth Games cycling champion Azizulhasni Awang.

Fancy swapping your usual weekend cycle for a ride along the Melbourne coast with one of Malaysia’s biggest sporting stars? You could, and the entry requirement is surprisingly small.

Malaysia Airlines has launched a new Strava challenge offering five winners the chance to travel to Melbourne and ride 60.7km alongside Dato’ Azizulhasni Awang, the Malaysian track cyclist better known as the Pocket Rocketman.

The catch? You need to cycle just 6.5km first.

Azizulhasni has just added another major title to his CV, winning gold in the men’s keirin at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. The Melbourne prize is designed to give the winners a glimpse into his world, with the trip including a visit to the DISC Velodrome, a behind-the-scenes training session, a tour of the venue and a WattBike sprint challenge.

The highlight comes afterwards: a 60.7km coastal ride from St Kilda to Mount Martha, following the Port Phillip Bay shoreline alongside the cycling champion.

How to enter

The Ride Together, Fly Together challenge is open until 28 August 2026. To enter, cyclists need to join the official MHsports challenge on Strava and record at least 6.5km of eligible cycling during the challenge period.

Once they’ve completed the distance, participants receive a 15 per cent discount code for their next Malaysia Airlines flight. They then need to submit their details and a screenshot showing they’ve completed the challenge through the campaign page to be in with a chance of becoming one of the five winners.

There is no flight booking or purchase required to enter.

Verified participants will also receive a separate 10 per cent discount code for eligible future flights.

For anyone who makes the cut, the prize is rather more substantial than a free bike ride. The winners will get an all-expenses-paid trip to Melbourne, an opportunity to see elite track cycling up close and the rather enviable chance to spend more than 60km trying to keep pace with the Pocket Rocketman.
