Alexandra Palace launches Summit, a Valentine’s Day rooftop adventure with 360° views across London

Valentine’s Day just got a lot higher. Londoners can now take romance — and their selfies — to new heights with Summit, the UK’s highest roof walk, opening at Alexandra Palace on Saturday 14 February 2026.

Guided by experts from Wire & Sky, the team behind daring attractions like Dare Skywalk at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Up at The O2, visitors step out onto a purpose-built route across Ally Pally’s roof, 130 metres above the city. From here, 360-degree views stretch for 25 miles, spanning 28 of London’s 32 boroughs and four counties, with landmarks like St Paul’s Cathedral, The Shard, Canary Wharf, the London Eye, and four major stadiums including Wembley visible along the way.

Whether it’s a daytime climb, a golden-hour sunset, or a sparkling London Lights evening ascent, Summit gives couples, friends, and families alike a fresh perspective on one of the capital’s most iconic buildings. Group climbs, private tours, and educational options are also on offer, making it an adventure for every kind of visitor.

For a building that has spent more than 150 years hosting the public, from concerts and exhibitions to ice shows and political rallies, Summit marks a brand-new way to experience Alexandra Palace — not inside it, but standing right on top. The palace was built with over 15 million bricks, which is probably why it feels so solid underfoot even now. Early aeronauts once tested experimental wings from the grounds, and generations of novice skiers have wobbled down the famous dry ski slope. Red Bull Soapbox racers have hurtled through the park in a spectacle that’s half adrenaline, half comedy. The Great Hall has hosted jazz and rock festivals, including Led Zeppelin gigs, television broadcasts, and even the Brit Awards.

Today, the Palace is wider and higher than Buckingham Palace, and with Summit, visitors can walk over the only palace in the UK you can actually step on. Climbers reach the 3.5-metre-tall Angel of Plenty statue, representing victory and abundance, and take in panoramic vistas across 196 acres of Alexandra Park, once home to the Frying Pan racecourse. It’s a heady mix of history, spectacle, and adventure — perfect for couples looking for a romantic twist on Valentine’s Day, or for friends and families who love unusual things to do.

Tickets are already on sale, starting from £22 for youth and £28 for adults. For more information and to book, visit summitallypally.co.uk
