London Fashion Week is in full swing and one of my favourite shows has to be Fashion Scout at the opulent and beautiful Freemason Hall in Holborn. Young fresh talent being showcased amongst the iron gates and chandeliers of one of the most beautiful buildings in London. On Friday I watched the Barrus AW16 collection from the front row and really fell in love with it.
Such elegance personified – feminine Hollywood glamour – Long flowing skirts, tailored long skirts with high splits with bustier tops, wiggle dresses and cocktail dresses adorned the runway. A play with materials and textures created a fun very wearable collection – lots of lace, satin, and silks mixed with faux furs and feathers made the collection sexy and interesting.
When we think glamour the colours play a huge part in making sure the outfit works and the colour theme does not let one down – pastels – pink, grey’s, sage green with silvers and golds. For the more bold colours, Barrus have used beautiful deep reds and blues.
Barrus aren’t unfamiliar with elegant and gorgeous evening wear, you just have to look at their previous collections, and like any great designer you can tell that they are here to stay as their designs and the collections have got better if that is even possible.
If you just want to turn heads this season then you can’t go wrong with a Barrus evening gown.
