The 74th Cannes Film Festival is going ahead this year: 18,000+ professionals and journalists have already applied for their accreditation.
With pandemic still rampant around the world, all eyes on the organisers of the Festival. The main question is what COVID measures will be taken to ensure participants safety.
In accordance with the French government’s provisions, in order to safeguard all participants’ health and safety, admission to the Festival will be subject to daily health pass checks. For your health pass to be valid, you will need one of the following:

- A certificate demonstrating full vaccination of a vaccine recognised by the European Medicines Agency (e.g. proof that 14 days have gone by since your second vaccine shot for those vaccinated with double-dose vaccines, or proof that four weeks have gone by since your single-dose vaccine);
- A negative PCR or antigen test result issued no more than 48 hours prior (to be renewed every 48 hours for the duration of your time at the Festival);
- Proof of immunity via a positive antibody test or RT-PCR test dated no less than 15 days ago, and under six months ago.
All attendees who would like to have a test done upon arriving in Cannes or during their stay, can visit the Festival’s partner laboratory centre located within striking distance of the Palais des Festivals. We were advised that this centre will remain open seven days a week (appointments available online), with free tests provided to both French and foreign nationals participants.
The Festival de Cannes’ complete health and safety protocol as approved by the French authorities will be viewable at www.festival-cannes.com.
