Goodwood Revival 2026: What’s on at this year’s festival of vintage motorsport and style

From a 300-strong Italian scooter parade and a Maserati racing celebration to Jamie-Lee O’Donnell, Zandra Rhodes and Golda Rosheuvel on the Style Stage, Goodwood Revival returns with a programme spanning cars, fashion, film, aviation and family history.

For three days each September, Goodwood Motor Circuit turns the clock back. But the appeal of Goodwood Revival is not simply the chance to watch historic racing cars circulate a 1940s track. The event has increasingly become a sprawling celebration of the culture around the period: clothes, design, cinema, craft, food, music and the people who keep vintage culture alive.

This year’s Goodwood Revival, running from Friday 18 to Sunday 20 September, has a distinctly Italian flavour, alongside major tributes to two of British motorsport’s most recognisable figures, Sir Jack Brabham and Barry Sheene.

There is plenty for serious motorsport fans, including a centenary celebration of Maserati, the return of the RAC TT Celebration and a rare gathering of the three Ford GT Mk IIs responsible for Ford’s famous 1-2-3 finish at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans.

But the programme is broader than the racing. For anyone interested in vintage fashion, design and popular culture, there is arguably as much happening away from the circuit as on it.

RAC TT Celebration: Sunday’s major GT race, featuring several world champions and leading drivers.

Barry Sheene: A display marking 50 years since his first World Championship.

Best Dressed Competition: Taking place at 3pm each day and presented by Ancestry.
Freddie March Spirit of Aviation: Historic aircraft, including celebrations of the Spitfire and de Havilland Chipmunk anniversaries.
The Workshop: Free heritage craft classes and demonstrations.
Revival Cinema and High Street: Films, vintage shopping, a fairground and the Bonhams auction.
Closing Party: A new Sunday evening finale on the track with live music and dancing.

Maserati, Vespa and a taste of La Dolce Vita

Italy is the theme running through much of this year’s Revival.

Maserati’s 100 years of competition history will be marked with more than 50 pre-1966 cars racing across the weekend, with drivers including Jenson Button, Jacques Villeneuve, Dario Franchitti and Scott Dixon. The cars will run on sustainable fuel.

The Italian influence will be particularly visible at the start of each day, when more than 300 pre-1967 scooters take to the track for a parade marking 80 years of Vespa. Vespas, Lambrettas, Ducatis and other Italian classics will turn the circuit into a moving display of post-war design.

Away from the racing, the Turning Circle will take its cue from La Dolce Vita, with an experience built around the glamour and style of post-war Italy.

The art of dressing for another era

The Revival Style Stage is again a major part of the programme, with the emphasis on the clothes, designers and screen costumes that have shaped our idea of the past.

Jamie-Lee O’Donnell will appear in conversation with Dandy Wellington on Saturday, discussing representation, second-hand fashion and the practical business of making another era convincing on screen. Golda Rosheuvel will talk about period costume and the ways fashion can communicate character and purpose.

On Sunday, Dame Zandra Rhodes will draw on more than six decades in fashion, while other sessions range from the life and work of Elsa Schiaparelli to the relationship between Audrey Hepburn and Hubert de Givenchy.

There will also be a look inside the Cosprop film costume collection, and a discussion involving designer Giles Deacon and vintage-fashion specialists about the different ways historic clothing can be used today.

For visitors who prefer shopping to sitting through a talk, Revival’s vintage fair and Revival High Street provide plenty of opportunity to put the inspiration into practice.

The Best Dressed Competition, presented by Ancestry, will take place at 3pm each day, with judges and scouts including David Harewood, Charlotte Dellal, Ari Seth Cohen, Adele Mildred, Gilbert Wing and Herbie Mensah.

Ancestry is also bringing family history into the event. Its Front Room and Portrait Studio will offer selected visitors the chance to have their Revival outfits photographed by a fashion magazine photographer, while genealogy experts will be on hand in a period-style lounge to help people begin researching their family histories.

There will also be live Questions + Ancestors celebrity sessions on the Revival Style Stage.

Sir Jack Brabham will be celebrated on the centenary of his birth and 60 years after his third Formula 1 World Championship, with important cars from his career brought together at Goodwood.

Motorcycle racer Barry Sheene will also be remembered, marking 50 years since his first World Championship. Championship-winning machines from his career will form part of the tribute, alongside the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy, the race renamed in his honour in 2003.

The headline race is Sunday’s RAC TT Celebration presented by DUNLOP, a one-hour contest for closed-cockpit GT cars. Its entry list includes Button, Franchitti, Dixon and four-time Indianapolis 500 winner Hélio Castroneves, who is making his Revival debut. Other leading names competing across the weekend include Tom Kristensen, Emmanuele Pirro, Jimmie Johnson, James Toseland and John McGuinness.

And then there are the Ford GT Mk IIs. All three cars from Ford’s 1-2-3 finish at the 1966 Le Mans 24 Hours will be together at Revival, following the acquisition of the winning chassis P/1046 by the Miller Family Automobile Foundation. The trio will be displayed at the DUNLOP stand in Earls Court and will also appear on track.

The Freddie March Spirit of Aviation presented by Bonhams returns to the airfield with a concours of historic aircraft. This year it marks the 90th anniversary of the Supermarine Spitfire and the 80th anniversary of the de Havilland Chipmunk, alongside other pre-1966 aircraft.

At The Workshop, television presenter Dominic Chinea will lead free classes and demonstrations in traditional crafts, tying into the event’s wider interest in repair, reuse and making.

There is also a vintage fairground, Revival High Street, the Bonhams auction and the Revival Cinema presented by Le Shuttle. And on Sunday, the event will finish not with the usual quiet dispersal of the crowd but with a new Closing Party on the track, featuring live music and dancing.
