The Bush Theatre has announced the full cast for Maggots, the new play from Jessie Anand Productions in association with the venue.

Written by Tony Craze Award winner Farah Najib and directed by Jess Barton, the production opens on 27 January 2026, with press night on 2 February, and runs until 28 February.

The play follows a group of tenants in a building plagued by infestations. As the housing association drags its feet and pest control refuses to help, neighbours are left to confront fears, suspicions, and the messy realities of community life.

The cast brings together three talented performers:

  • Sam Baker Jones, recently seen in Dear England (BBC) and Trigger Point (ITV), with stage credits including Big Big Sky and Swim, Aunty, Swim.
  • Safiyya Ingar, whose theatre work ranges from King Troll (New Diorama) to Holes (Nottingham Playhouse), and screen roles in Brides (BFI/Neon Films) and The Witcher (Netflix).
  • Marcia Lecky, trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Art and Guildford School of Acting, with appearances at the National Theatre, RSC, and TV credits including Ted Lasso and Doctor Who.

The creative team includes Caitlin Mawhinney (set and costume design), Peter Small (lighting), Duramaney Kamara (composer and sound designer), and Fran Cattaneo (casting).
