Punk’s Not Dead – And It’s Coming to a Theatre Near You
It’s time to rip up the rulebook and relive the raw energy of punk as Pretty Vacant – The Story of Punk and New Wave storms across the UK and Ireland this winter. This no-holds-barred celebration of rebellion, attitude, and iconic anthems is bringing punk back to life—loud, unapologetic, and as exhilarating as ever. And who better to guide us through this riotous ride than Coronation Street legend Kevin Kennedy?
Kennedy, best known for his role as Curly Watts, is stepping into the spotlight as the Narrator for Pretty Vacant. But before the cobbles, Kennedy was in a band with Johnny Marr and Andy Rourke—who went on to form The Smiths. Now, he’s lending his real-world rock credentials to a show that takes audiences on a breakneck journey from the birth of punk in the ‘70s, through its ‘80s and ‘90s evolutions, and right into its lasting legacy today.
Kevin Kennedy on Joining the Punk Revolution:

“I’m so excited to be part of Pretty Vacant. When punk exploded on the scene in 1977, it truly was a revolution—it changed music, fashion, and every aspect of the arts. I witnessed it all… Let’s do it again, together.”
Brace yourselves for a night of anarchy, mayhem, and pure punk attitude, as a cast of ferocious musicians, singers, and dancers belt out era-defining anthems from The Sex Pistols, The Clash, Blondie, The Damned, Ramones, Buzzcocks, The Undertones, The Police, The Jam, Siouxsie and The Banshees, The Pretenders, Joy Division, The Stranglers—and that’s just the beginning. Think studs, safety pins, and a whole lot of noise.
