A new musical, Raising Gays, will be presented in the West End this July as a one-off concert reading at the Garrick Theatre..
The performance takes place on Sunday 5 July 2026 and offers an early look at the show ahead of a full production. The script-in-hand presentation will be performed with piano accompaniment.
Set in a fictional Somerset town, the story follows a group of parents whose children are part of the LGBTQ+ community. When they take on organising a float for the town’s first Pride parade, things begin to unravel, forcing them to confront their own assumptions, blind spots and good intentions.
The musical focuses on the parents rather than the children, placing the attention on how they respond to situations they are still learning to understand.
The cast is drawn from across the West End, including Damian Humbley, Sarah Ingram, Melanie La Barrie, Michael Matus, Joanna Riding and Sydney Sainté.
The book is by Micha Mirto, with music and lyrics by Jordan Paul Clarke (Showstopper! The Improvised Musical). This first outing is presented as a concert version, giving a clear sense of the material before full staging.

The reading takes place during London Pride weekend, with the performance scheduled for the day after the main celebrations.
The running time is approximately 95 minutes. Age guidance is 12+, with references to family conflict, strong language and adult themes.
