The Grand Prix Ball 2016 brings the glamour of Formula One to London, with celebrity hosts and a performance by Heather Small and The M-People.
The 2016 Grand Prix Ball at the Hurlingham Club has kicked off the British Grand Prix weekend in style. VIPs from the F1 world, accompanied by a wide selection of celebrity guests, were treated to a demonstration and display of high-performance F1 cars driven by some of the legends of the sport through the ages. This included the Brabham F1, originally raced by F1 legend Jack Brabham and driven on the evening by his son David.
Building on the success of years gone by, the sixth Grand Prix Ball was hosted b a former driver, team owner and broadcaster Eddie Jordan and renowned automotive journalist Tiff Needell. Guests in attendance were from the sports, automotive and fashion worlds, and included swimwear designer Kimberley Garner, whilst current Top Gear presenters Sabine Schmitz and Rory Reid rubbed shoulders with original series presenter Tiff.
Entertainment on the evening drew from the world of classical and popular music, including performances from best selling artists Heather Small the voice of M-People, and Eddie Jordan took to the stage for a hugely successful performance with his band, ‘The Robbers’. Celebrity DJ Seb Fontaine’s set filled the dance floor into the early hours of the morning.
Once again the event was to raise money for The Prince’s Trust, with a charity auction including prizes such as a round of golf with AP McCoy and David Coulthard, a VIP Superyacht package at the Monaco Grand Prix and a VIP travel experience to Los Angeles to see Adele in concert.
GP Management CEO Jonny Dodge commented: “What a fantastic evening. Once again it has been a thrill to see such an impressive group of guests enjoying the thrill and glamour of Formula One, all whilst supporting a worthy cause. As ever, Eddie (Jordan) and the host team have kept the audience laughing all the way through the evening, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone again next year.”
