Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant in good spirits as they arrived at the European premiere of Florence Foster Jenkins.

The A-lister & Hugh Grant posed for photos together at the Odeon Leicester Square on Tuesday evening for the premiere of Stephen Frears’ new film.

Oscar-winner Streep spent time chatting to fans and signing autographs for the crowds that had gathered outside the cinema.

Florence Foster Jenkins plot

Frears’ new film is the story of New York heiress Foster Jenkins, who dreamt of becoming an opera singer despite having a poor voice.

Famously press hating and camera-shy Grant also seemed keen to meet fans and even posed for selfies before heading into the screening.

They were joined at the London premiere by co-stars Simon Helberg and Stanley Tucci as well as Rebecca Ferguson and Sarah Winter.

While Streep takes on the role of Foster Jenkins, Grant plays St Clair Bayfield, an aristocratic English actor who was determined to shield her from finding out the truth.

The film, directed by Stephen Frears, will also be shown at the Belfast Film Festival on April 23 before its theatrical release in the United Kingdom on May 06, 2016. A release date for the United States has not yet been set, but it will play throughout Europe starting in April. Check back for more release dates as news are being announced.
