The West End hit Paranormal Activity, directed by Punchdrunk founder Felix Barrett, comes to Richmond Theatre this September for a chilling, immersive new stage story inspired by the iconic films.

Paranormal Activity, the West End hit that has terrified London audiences, arrives at Richmond Theatre from Saturday 5 September to Saturday 12 September 2026. Following its sell-out West End run at the Ambassadors Theatre and a short Christmas stint at Leeds Playhouse, the chilling theatrical experience is now set to haunt towns and cities across the UK and Ireland until May 2027.

Written by Levi Holloway and directed by Felix Barrett, the visionary founder of Punchdrunk, this new story brings the global horror phenomenon to the stage with a pulse-pounding, immersive twist. James and Lou move from Chicago to London to escape their past, but discover that in this story, places aren’t haunted — people are. With a brand-new narrative inspired by the iconic Paranormal Activity films, audiences can expect to be on the edge of their seats from the very first moment.

Blurring the line between cinema and theatre, the production has been described as “relentlessly frightening — arm-clutchingly, stranger-embracingly so” by Metro, and praised by The Guardian as “jaw-clenchingly, arm-clutchingly thrilling.” Levi Holloway’s script reimagines the modern ghost story, blending domestic horror with intense theatricality, while Felix Barrett’s signature immersive style places audiences directly in the path of the unexplained. Innovative staging, chilling soundscapes, and startling illusions ensure that nothing is as it seems, making every moment tense, terrifying, and utterly compelling.

The production features physical design and effects from Chris Fisher (Illusions), set and costumes by Fly Davis, lighting by Anna Watson, sound by Gareth Fry, video design by Luke Halls, and casting direction by Ginny Schiller CDG. The creative team combines decades of theatrical experience to deliver a haunting experience unlike anything seen before in the UK.

Paranormal Activity was originally released by Paramount Pictures in 2009, pioneering the found-footage genre and grossing nearly $200 million worldwide. Now, the legacy of fear comes alive on stage, offering a live, immersive experience for horror fans and theatre-goers alike.
