Rock Your Jeans for Genes. It’s For Charity!

Jeans are not an item of wardrobe that I would advise anyone to wear for a glamorous night out like a champagne reception. But there is one day a year when I let my guard down, especially if the creative crowd of socialites and reality TV personalities do just that.

Jeans for Genes Day that is taking place on 23rd September 2016 (penultimate Friday each September). To celebrate the cause now on its 21st year – and spread the word far and wide- the Jeans for Genes team invited press and celebrities including Zara Holland, celebrity photographer and publisher Joe Alvarez, model Tamara Orlova-Alvarez, Lizzie Cundy, Casey Batchelor, Pascal Craymer, Nicola Roberts among others to their champagne-fuelled party, for the 21st year running. The campaign is one of the longest running in the UK and has raised more than £40 million.

On the hottest September day in 30 years, cold cocktails were responsible for great vibe as the DJ spun the decks. All attended were able to fix their nails at beautiful bijou stand by True Brit London – the UK made luxury nail care brand. Accompanied by great music, celebs shopped for their favourite denim. And I think I’ve heard my favourite excuse “I’m not indulging myself; it’s for charity” for more than few times during the event.

GAP, we were told, has donated £1 from every purchase to noble causes – to support children born with genetic disorders. Let Jeans for Genes day be your permission slip to rock your denim on 23rd September or even to stock up with a few new pairs for all occasions. And don’t forget, it’s all for charity!
