ROHMIR, the brand founded and headed by Baroness Olga Roh, is known for its sophisticated and elegant designs that effortlessly blend Italian sensuality with Parisian chic, Swiss sense of luxury with Slavonic refinement. The London Fashion Week SS18 collection sparkling, presented at magnificent Freemasons Hall was not an exclusion.
Inspired by Italy, the “quintessence of femininity”, the collection features timeless ready-to-wear pieces which scream out nobility and class. ROHMIR shows are known not only for the fashion but also for spectacular performances by world-renowned ‘muses’. This year, Anastasia Maksimova appeared at the catwalk entrance and burst into Italian opera, skillfully blending her soprano with contemporary accompaniment.
And then followed the celebration of glitz, glamour and romanticism, courtesy of ROHMIR. Sweeping frocks paraded down the catwalk in whites and various shades of blues, silver and murky flower patters. Classic cuts with peplums accentuating the chiseled waists, layers of lighter-than-air fluid silk and intricate lace. Hand-sewn beads, sequins and embellishments delivered on the promise of sparkle.

High side slits – at times one on each side – and open backs reveal sun-kissed flesh; while other, more conservative designs, feature side pockets on long Grace Kelly inspired skirts. Beautifully made up with the 30s inspired hair, models were telling the story of old Italian film stars and red carpet glamour. Wonderfully over-the-top and spectacular, ROHMIR left the audience inspired to dress and live in style.
