Ambridge comes alive in a one-of-a-kind national tour, celebrating 75 years of BBC Radio 4’s legendary drama

For three-quarters of a century, The Archers has captured life, love, and drama in the fictional village of Ambridge, earning a devoted following and cementing its place in British culture. In 2026, the world’s longest-running radio drama steps out of the studio for the first time with The Archers: Live at 75, touring theatres across the UK with nostalgia, comedy, and insider insight.

Hosted by comedian and lifelong fan Angela Barnes, the live show features a rotating cast of Archers actors, a BBC archivist, and a live sound-effects specialist. Expect behind-the-scenes stories, quizzes, audience Q&As, and a sing-along to the programme’s iconic theme tune. Set against a playful reimagining of the Ambridge Flower & Produce Show, it’s an interactive celebration for longtime listeners and newcomers alike.

Barnes says:

“Being asked to host The Archers: Live at 75 is like winning a prize at the Flower and Produce Show and being cast as the lead in a Lynda Snell production — all rolled into one. I can’t wait to hang out with my favourite characters.”

The tour kicks off in June 2026 with nearby stops including Canterbury (14 June), Brighton (17 June), and Southend-on-Sea (10 September). London audiences can catch the show at New Wimbledon Theatre on Thursday 3 September 2026, with tickets from £35. Full list of dates and locations is available at fane.co.uk/the-archers.
