Happy Hunting!

What Should I Wear?

First of all, we need to figure out how to create the perfect fall wardrobe. We’ve been going through the different collections and styles from the FW’14 runways, resulting in a list of wardrobe essentials. Are you ready? Here they are.

THE ROBE COAT

This season the robe coat has made a major comeback, and we’re definitely not complaining. The coat is a pleasure to wear and it exists in many different colours and materials. The coat has been all over the runways from Chloé to Richard Chai Love and Creatures Of The Wind to Altuzarra.

KNITWEAR

We know, knitwear and sweaters in the fall, not exactly the biggest news. But this season the knitting trend has reached new heights. On the runway designers as Stella McCartney, Marc Jacobs and Céline presented cosy pants, cowl-neck tops with matching skirts, cardigans that went down to your ankles and beautiful turtleneck dresses. So yes, this season it is acceptable to look cosy at the fall events you’re planning to attend.

FURRRRR

Just as knitwear, fur is an inevitable trend for fall fashion, but this season designers as Alexander McQueen, Fendi, Roberto Cavalli, Chloé, Pucci and Versace. experimented with the shapes resulting in very extraordinary and eccentric looks. Wild influences, patchwork effect and flashes of vibrant red are some of the most describing keywords for this seasons fur trend.

ASTRAKHAN

We’ve already established the immortal fur trend, but this season another type of fur showed up on the runways. The fur we’re talking about is the underrated astrakhan fur made from sheep and characterized by its tiny swirling patterns. Designers as Céline, J. Mendel, Tom Ford, Miu Miu and Fendi showed of the fabric’s cuddly glory in beautiful neutral colours down the runways.

THE PONCHO

Like a chic blanket Burberry Prorsum and Etro nonchalantly hung the ponchos over the models’ shoulders while Roberto Cavalli presented a more sophisticated look in monochrome and with a fur hood. The blanket coat was shown on so many runways that our perfect fall wardrobe wouldn’t survive without one.

SNEAKERS

Time for your feet to rejoice! The designers have declared the sneakers footwear of the moment. Especially Chanel has succeeded letting the models stroll down the runway in sneakers. Wonder if the models complained about the absence of heels. Probably not, and we won’t either. Of course you don’t have to spend a fortune on a pair of Chanel, Valentino, Jimmy Choo or Saint Laurent sneakers. Nike, Adidas, Reebok, Asics, Vans etc. are all totally acceptable sneakers choices.

TURTLENECKS

Not only are the turtlenecks back in fashion, they are also bigger than ever. Designers like Peter Pilotto, The Row and Gareth Pugh sent their models down the runway wearing ridiculously oversized turtlenecks. And we love it. This season you have the possibility of keeping your neck warm while remaining a fashionable look and the amount of days with illness and a running nose will most likely drop.

OVER-THE-KNEE-BOOTS

If you’re not really feeling the OTK boots look, then it is because you haven’t seen Alexander Wang’s tough girl chic versions. They are absolutely gorgeous and you can wear them with a pair of skinny jeans and an oversized sweater for weekday or with an icy white coat and leather mini skirt for weekends. Emilio Pucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, Sportmax, Tod’s, Versage and Gucci are also amongst the designers who embraced the OTK boots trend this season. Check it out and let yourself get inspired by the boots.

How Do I Choose The Best Beauty Products?

Fall is all over us and so are the thousands of new beauty trends and products. But how do I know the right colour for my lips? How to take care of my dry hands? Or how to keep my skin healthy during the winter months? We have a few answers. Keep scroll down and hopefully you will feel a bit more prepared for the fall/winter cold.

THE MATTE LIPS

The matte colours are on everybody’s lips this season. Matte lips always look great on the runway, but working them on a daily basis can be tricky. The key is to start with the right preparation. Keep reading to find out how to keep your lips smooth and ready for the matte colours this season.

BUFF AWAY FLAKY SKIN

Do you also tend to get VERY dry lips when the cold starts bothering? Or do you just want to rock the matte lips seen on the runway? A lip scrub for sure is recommendable! The scrub will make your lips as soft as a baby’s butt.

“As soon as you gently rub Mint Julips on your lips, you’ll feel its invigorating peppermint oil tingling away while the sugar crystals buff away any flaky skin” is what Lush has to say about their Mint Julips lip scrub. Sounds pretty decent right?

SOFT LIPS ALL DAY

A nice lip balm is also a MUST every season! Personally I recommend Dior’s Crème Abricot. Apply the balm preferably in the evening, and you ’ll wake up in the morning with the softest lips ever, especially if you also used Lush’s Mint Julips lip scrub. But actually Dior’s Crème Abricot is really meant to moisture your nails. The creamy salve encourages nail growth, improves nail strength and conditions cuticles.

SPEAKING OF NAILS

This season you definitely have to go for the dark shades on your nails! Chanel’s Orage, which, funny enough, is a synonym for storm, will fit perfectly to your fall beauty look. The colour is a very deep and intense dark grey. Indigo Frog from Vinylux wouldn’t be a bad choice either. The nail polish has a dark blue colour and having blue as a musthave this season you can’t go wrong with this stunning nail polish!

CODAGE PARIS FACE SERUM

MOISTURE, MOISTURE, MOISTURE

It is sooo important to stay moisturised and really pamper yourself through the chilly fall and the freezing winter months. Let’s start from the top and talk a little about our hair. Because whether you have long or short hair it’s always a good idea to use a nice oil for your locks. Take as an example Morrocanoil. Morrocanoil is a high-quality oil that makes your hair shine and ensures a silky result and a fabulous smell. It’s also very important to moisture your body through the coolest months and a matching, exfoliating body scrub should also be in your beauty bag. Ole Henriksen’s Body Sleek Hydrating Lotion and his Rub N’ Buff Salt Scrub is a perfect combination. And you skin will love you!

Of course, you shouldn’t forget to moisture your face either or your chapped hands. Go for oil-based moisturizers if your skin tends to get dry in the winter months.

WE’RE ALL ABOUT THOSE EYEBROWS

Those very thick, elongated and dark eyebrows have been absolutely inevitable these past couple of years. And that’s totally understandable. KUSMI DETOX TEA

Want to enjoy a moment of wellness? Make yourself a nice cup of Kusmi Detox Tea. The tea is a mix of maté, green tea and lemongrass and is an ideal beverage to enjoy throughout the day. The ingredients help flush out toxins from the body and with the cold getting closer we need something to keep us warm. Oh, and did we mention that supermodel Kendall Jenner drinks the tea every day too as a part of her strict diet? So pour up! Maybe we will end up having the same gorgeous legs as Kendall…

HOMEMADE VITAMIN WATER

If you don’t want to spend a lot of money on the Kusmi Detox Tea but still want the detoxing effect you can make your own detox vitamin water. Here is an easy recipe:

  • 2 liters water
  • 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
  • 1 medium cucumber, sliced
  • 1 medium lemon, sliced
  •  12 small spearmint leaves

Let the ingredients blend together over the night and drink all the homemade detox water during the course of the day. This particular vitamin water is actually called the Flat Tummy Water.

ROOT CHIPS

A true favourite for fall is all the delicious roots available everywhere you go during the fall season. A way to make the roots an even bigger favourite is to make them into root chips. Yes, you can buy them in different stores, but don’t. If you make them yourself they will turn out as much healthier snacks. Pick your favourite roots, cut them in very thin slices, spread over some salt and roast them in the oven. The temperature and roasting time in the oven depends on the size of your slices and the type of the roots. For specific recipes and inspiration, look up Homemade Root Chips on the Internet.
