To mark Magnum’s arrival at Cannes and the release of two new indulgent Magnum Double flavours – Coconut and Raspberry – Magnum has partnered with Moschino and produced a series of eye-catching cartoonish visuals, starring Jeremy Scott, creative director of Moschino, and international film star and supermodel Cara Delevingne.
“Moschino presented the perfect partnership for this year’s Release the Beast campaign,” commented Magnum spokesperson at the press call. “The luxury fashion brand constantly pushes the limits on style and standout pieces are their signature.” The mind behind Moschino is the daring and audacious Jeremy Scott. Jeremy’s pop style inspired the vision behind the new campaign and helped bring to life this new campaign.
When it came to finding the muse of this year’s campaign, there was no question as to who embodied the spirit and attitude of Release the Beast and Dare to go Double. Cara Delevingne is loved by her fans for her quirky, fun and bold personality. In both her fashion and film career she dazzles and delights with her unfiltered and authentic style.
Together, Cara and Jeremy have created a film that is both fun and fierce. Featuring in the film are the new beasts – a few of Moschino’s uniquely crafted illustrations designed and brought to life specifically for the campaign by legendary animator Uli Meyer who is most notable for his work on “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” and “Space Jam”.
The beasts made a riveting appearance as part of the campaign, during a big reveal at the Cannes International Film Festival.
Jeremy Scott admitted: “The collaboration with Magnum, from designing the beasts to directing the film has been beyond fun for me. Working with Cara was amazing, and being bold with fashion is something I try to bring to life in my work every day.” I won’t be surprised seeing Cara as the face of the next Moschino campaign.
The Magnum X Moschino party, held at Magnum Beach, was an extravaganza in true ‘Release the Beast’ style. Celebrities and socialites in attendance included Cara Delevingne, Jean Bernard Fernandes-Versini, Tallia Storm, Marisa Saks, Celebrity Photographer and Ed-In-Chief Joe Alvarez and model Tamara Orlova-Alvarez, Kimberly Garner, Leigh Lezark, Victoria Swarovski among others.
Courtesy of Magnum, all guests had a chance to ‘release their own beast’ and create the ice cream of their choice. With more than twenty toppings available on the night, it was a hard choice. As to the Ikon London Magazine team, we donned the vanilla ice cream with dark chocolate and golden sprinkles. Thought through to the minute detail, the Magnum provided the selection of two backdrops for the ice cream pictures for the social media lovers – glittering gold and star-studded pink.
The Perrier Jouet champagne was generously poured by the courteous staff and all guests made sure to grab a glass or two. Apart from probably the IT girl herself, whose VIP table was humbly served with soft drinks. The supermodel was escorted by body guards at any given time but nonetheless was up for posing or selfies with guests.
