Where do I begin with Paul Costelloe AW16 fashion show? Being an integral part of every London Fashion Week, the show took place at the classy Meridian Hotel, Piccadilly. Having seen the collection from the front row I can say it was the best model casting I’ve seen in a while.
Inspired by the ‘modern day female warrior’, the collection is an adaptation of power dressing for our daily life. The designs reminded me of numerous computer games that glorify ambitious fearless fighters of mysterious worlds. Sharp tailored coats were paired with fluid organza frocks and alluring burgundy jacquards adding a dramatic edge to the classic style.
In his AW16 collection, Costelloe has successfully re-introduced over-knee wool tights that added a nice finishing touch to all his designs. A must have this coming Autumn-Winter.
Paul Costelloe is no doubt one of the best British designers who is known for combining traditional fabric with innovative techniques and creating outstanding textures and volume. AW16 collection perfectly demonstrates the experience of his team based here in London.
