If there’s one show we look forward to every year at fashion week, it’s Pam Hogg. Her rebellious ways and punk rock style guarantee to draw us in and keep us entertained. Fashion Week is about pushing boundaries and making an impact- Pam Hogg is the Queen of making an impact and her SS17 show was no exception.
The flesh was flaunted and colours were cast brightly upon the ever so stylish crowd throughout the show. We saw lots of metallics and childlike splashes of colour adorned on both skintight catsuits and scene-stealing prom dresses.
Hogg’s collection was all about confidence and fun. The bright, mismatched colours popped and the metallic fabrics reflected the light to create a dazzling collection. It’s difficult to pull off both fun and sexy, but Hogg absolutely nailed it; baring enough flesh to make it rebellious and powerful, whilst keeping it funky with the multicoloured patterns.
Anita Pallenberg; Italian pin-up and muse of the Rolling Stones, took centre aisle during the show and was greeted with energetic applause and whooping from the oh so fabulous crowd. Cane in hand, her walk was somewhat of a spectacle- working the audience as she strutted her gold-cladded self down the runway. And gold she was. Head to toe. Hogg doesn’t do things by halves.
And of course she gave us lots of latex, including some sky blue knickers and fabulous catsuits. Throw in a tonne of sequins and splatters of paint and here you have Pam Hogg’s collection of school art class meets Torture Garden. We love it.
